"Once In A Lifetime" Natural Swim Pond Build 2026 Shaftsbury, VT

Nestled In the Green Mountains near Shaftsbury, VT resides a picturesque backdrop that is nothing short of jaw dropping.

This will be the site for a major land renovation to create a liner based Natural Swim Pond for the client. Previously, the client had an excavation done by a company that does not specialize in ponds and this presented many problems for them.

They were originally hoping for an Earthen Pond that could be used for swimming. Water retention, drainage, & overall design fell short.

Our work in the Spring of 2026 will include creating an expansive linered pond on the same plateau area off a hillside, replacing the clay water hole that exists there now. It will be made to look like it belongs in that geographic area & feature things that make pond maintenance easier.

These things will include seamless components, wetland filtration, drainage mitigation, a skim cove, robust circulation, select natural stone implementation, etc. Rainwater harvesting off the house gutters will replenish water on this system & other water storage options will be looked at. Having a spacious swim zone with ease of access entry / exit points will make enjoying this cooling zone with a view spectacular.

A natural looking brook style waterfall system will circulate water and will be made to look a section of the Battenkill cuts through the property. Re-creating a functional and very realistic looking feature is the aspiration of these nature loving customers.
