Here is the Client's pond that was previously built by another pond contractor as a pond believed to be suitable for numerous Koi.
Numerous limitations exist making this feature that although fits the frontyard space available for a feature - difficult for proper fish care, namely the pond volume. Lack of internal structure space for cover & overall spatial layout for koi swimming create this challenge. This pond system also has equipment that has proven to be inefficient overall.
Being that the Client's are both retired, they are looking to simplfy things in a cost effective manner while still being able to enjoy the site & sound of water, plants, & wildlife.
The Solution:
Based on Client interest, a conversion to a re-circulating or pondless waterfall system - while not changing much of the existing waterfall will breathe new life and purpose for the space. We will be able accomplish this without it being an overly invasive process.
We will be adding some additional focal interest to the current waterfall and new layout, while naturalizing it with our special touches. We will bypass some of the existing plumbing and re-work the water flow by utilizing a singular more powerful, but efficient pump & rockwork adjustment / sealing techniques. A fresh influx of aquatic & marginal plants within & around the space will also provide a renewed interest in spending time near the feature, despite no longer having the fish.
This project is on our 2025 schedule & we will be posting video / photos on our social channels - follow us to stay up to date on this and others throughout the 2025 season.
